I may get to the Coventry Elex Show for a couple of hours on Thursday morning, am I right thinking the IET will be selling the new EVSE COP with a show discount?

For those with a subscription to the electronic versions, it may be available via that route already. Physical printed versions have a slightly different timeline. As post above, it's showing 'in stock' on the IET's book shop

I pre ordered back on the 31st July when email came out saying publications was availible. I made a purchase for a hard copy and auto email indicated as I expected back order and Im sure the date to be released was 23rd September 2023, and thats when my CC will be charged. So no debit yet or book thru the post but certainly expected it this month.

Book was £64.25 using my IET member discount so full price would have been £87.

In response to SparkingChip I would be a bit pissed off if the IET just suddenly offer discount to non members at a tradeshow! To IET members attending the show fair enough.

Well they do! A slightly smaller discount (20 vs 25?) , but yes, all books are discounted at the trade shows. Free entry to the show, decent discount for any required books, it doesnt make being a Member for the book discount worthwhile, especially as its over £180 now isnt it?

IET - reduce it to £100, and you'll get far more Members. Reduce it to £50, and you'll be inundated with Membership requests. £180+ is too much.

Having checked, the intention is that there will be copies available to purchase at the Show.

Let me get this right, all of us that are suitable for IET membership and pay our annual subscription obtain this forthcoming publication at 25% discount so a saving of £21.75.

Some body that is not a IET member but just attends this trade show and purchases the new document automatically obtains a £17.40 saving!! so on this publication IET members are just £4.35 better off.

Maybe Im missing something here, but surely it should just be a IET member discount or anybody else pays full price, apart say from members of "Approved" other bodies.

Must admit this doesnt make me feel like a member getting a real benefit, and yes I have Scottish blood and every pound a prisoner.
