Dali dimming light fitting used for fixed output

I have ordered a Dali dimmable light fitting for a project that requires a fixed output , can the Dali fitting be made to work easily ?

Thanks

  • Dali dimming is a way of changing how bright each light or group of lights is in a system that’s connected together . You can use a Dali device, like a switch, a sensor, or a program, to tell the Dali parts that power the lights what to do.

  • I think most DALI fittings will just 'turn on full' when you first give them power, so if fixed full output is all you are after then it will probably be OK.  If you need a different fixed level output then as AMK says you'll need some form of DALI control system.  You'll also need a DALI commissioning tool of some form to address the DALI fitting(s) correctly so they talk to the controller in the way you want them to.
