The gateway that comes with the Tesla Powerwall is just a big contactor in which the supply and load tails connect into, there is also an option to use circuit breakers within the gateway (din rail provided) supply the battery themselves if there no space in the existing fuseboard. My question is that although Tesla say this is all been type tested for the UK yada yada yada it in my eyes doesn't seem compliant in some situations and alot of people seem to be installing indoors including us which I absolutely hate but just doing what ones told ultimately but can anyone shed any light on this?
If a consumer unit requires to be non combustible shouldn't the Tesla Gateway be also? Considering the Giv energy ones are all Metal to compare products
