EICR's for Campsites.

What is the recommended maximum period between inpections  and testing for shower blocks, laundry rooms and communal washing facilities on campsite? The electric hook ups and the distribution wiring to them is yearly but there is no mention of other parts of the installation. The scope in Section 708 of BS7671 does not cover these buildings. Are these buildings defined as commercial (5 years) or due to the fact they are on a campsite part of a leisure complex (3 years)?

    The time periods you indicate are only a suggestion and not fixed in any way as lots of things such as age of installation, quality of maintenece etc and use all come into that. BS7671 Indicates that the electrical installation designer provides first time period to the first EICR and then after that it is the inspector carrying out the EICR that indicates the next time period.

    Have you had an EICR carried out on the other buildings before? If so you will need to look at the most recent one and see what the inspector indicated the time period to next EICR inspection is due, There should also be a label/notice at the Origin of the electrical installation and/or other distribution boards indicating when last test carried out and suggested date of next inspection.
