Strange One - Oil residue on cables

Hi all come across something iv not seen before today and wondered if anyone had any ideas.

Had to pop back to a new build we done 4 years ago today. They had a faulty oven, had the board cover off and noticed a very small amount of like a oil residue on some cables. It was not a big amount and no puddling or anything, just some of the cables were shiny. I didn't supply materials on this job, wondered if its a cable issue. Has anyone seen this before on new cable ? Iv obviously seen the green goo on old cables. Thank you

  • Were the cables pulled into ducting or conduit using some sort of lubricant ? That can migrate and end up in slightly odd places. (I have seen it where cables have been replaced behind capping by gingerly pulling a new one in while pulling out the old, due to nail damage above a switch and that sort of thing) Otherwise I'd wonder about fumes from frying or something like that getting drawn in. - I have seen a socket next to an Air Fryer fill up with some sort of oily grot and then fail impressively.
