intumescent strip in Three Phase DB

I have an three phase distribution board in a school  with a holes cut in the top for the LSF /PVC/PVC cables which goes into plastic trunking , does anyone know if i am correct in asking for  intumescent strip to be fitted and which regulation would cover this to stop the spread of fire , the board is located within a fire rated cupboard , but still believe its good practice to keep within the DB ?

  • You could have a look at envirograf.com their EnviroBurst seems to look useful without being too expensive.

It would be useful to fit a battery powered backup light above CU/DB for when they need to flick the breaker back on

Advocate the installation of a smoke/heat alarm that is interlinked above CU/DB in the fire rated cupboard

intumescent strip and FireMate can and should be used when there is compartment or building fabric penetrations.
