Part 7 & 8 of the inspection schedule - EICR

Hi all, looking for clarification on the following sections of the EICR. They appears free text boxes on the EICR, inspection schedule. Part 7 would appear to follow the requirements of special locations in BS7671, with any deviations noted here.

With regard part 8. There appears to be little guidance in BS7671 with what checklist we should utilise to verify if the requirements of this section are met. Be interesting to hear what others do with regard part 8 in particular.

  • It seems quite clear to me. Are you using the Model forms, as in 7671 page 529?

    Item 7. List other special installations or locations.

    We already have Locations containing a bath or shower in Item 6, so Item 7 is 'other' special locations. Page 241, Part 7 gives a long line of 'Special' installations or locations. So Part 7 on the EICR form will be for an area that is a special location, but one that may or may not contain a bath or shower.

    For Item 8 of the EICR form, Chapter 82 in 7671 covers that. It starts with: "This chapter provides ADDITIONAL requirements..."  So there are other, extra requirements required for prosumer equipment.

    List them if necessary, and do your checks, e.g. 826.1.1.2.2 needs all live conductors to be able to disconnect from the DNO supply. Its quite possible for this to be overlooked by solar installers who are on a bonus to finish early.
