I am hearing from my network that the DPC for AMD 4 went on line this morning and is available on the BSI website.

Some countries publish their Wiring Regs. in parts, however the sum of the parts is more than the whole UK book.

  • I think that could be a better idea if constructed properly. Sections 1 to 6 as the main part, 7 and 8 in different sections could be a better option. Sec. 8 will certainly be added to in the 19th, but will that be up to date? I doubt it, as new technology is happening, indeed, we had the BEAMA update recently saying they'd prefer battery storage outside now, whereas almost all installations had them inside before, and they are still being installed internally.

Smaller Books for the Chapters in Section 7 would be a good idea. How many people refer to Section 740 in their work? Maybe 50 people in the UK, maybe less? Why do we all have to read through it for the exam, when, in our working lives it will never be relevant.

Sections 1 to 6 are all relevant, yet only a few parts of Sec. 7 and 8 are relevant for the vast majority of people. Concentrate on the core safety requirements, leave the peripheral sections to Guidance Notes.
