IEC 62271-200 - Breaker rack-in and closure

Good morning everyone!!!
Do any of you have the IEC 62271-200 standard and can help me clarify a doubt?
During an inspection of a 6.6 kV metal-enclosed switchgear, it was found that: in the extracted breaker position it is possible to unlock and open the front door of said breaker.
At the moment when you want to insert (rack-in) the breaker, the only security is a “pin” on the rear door which, when placed on the breaker, goes to unlock the truck of the breaker and allows its rack-in and closure under voltage. All, as you may have guessed, without a closed+locked hatch control.

Does IEC 62271-200 explicitly prescribe that it cannot be possible to close a circuit breaker with an unclosed door?
Or that it is not possible to rack-in with door not closed?

Thanks to all who would like to help me

Regards

P.

  • Hi there, my name is Yen and I work as part of the Library and Archives team at London Savoy Place.

If it's helpful, we can provide digital access to IEC 62271-200 and other standards within the eight modules of BSI that we subscribe to as PDFs via email. If you email libdesk@theiet.org with your membership number and reference the standards you are interested in we can hopefully supply.

We are also trialing read only remote access (so you can read but not download standards from our subscribed modules at home). Please get in touch via the libdesk email address if either of these are of interest.

    Best wishes,
