AFDD Q and A

I thought this was an interesting consideration from NICEIC Q and A on AFDDs. I would have thought the regulation was focused at what might end up connected to a socket rather than the AFDD protection for the circuit. Were that to be the case, then what about all the other circuits that do not have sockets?

Compulsory AFDD from from Dec 2017 to Oct 2019 - the Germans are nothing it not efficient when faced with a lack of evidence.... But I think you know that.

The word "pflicht" translates as compulsory while "empfiehlt" s more like recommended. What is compulsory now is a process of local risk assessment to decide what the best measures are for the specific risks in the installation and the building..
