No forum for a fortnight?

https://engx.theiet.org/p/announcement

What will I do? (Don't bother answering that, my other half will undoubtedly find plenty of things...)

It does seem like rather a long time though.... I wonder if usage will drop if people get out of the habit of calling in here.

    Answers on a postcard!

  • The problem might be what will the forum look like after it has been "updated"?  If the past is anything to go on it will be less easy to use, less functionality and access to previous answers will have disappeared.

  • Hi David, we're not making any changes to the forum at all. Slight smile

We’re upgrading our systems, and this includes changes to our customer and member account log in i.e. MyIET. Because we share the 'single sign on' log in it means that you won't be able to log in to participate on EngX while the systems are switched over.

More info is available here: https://www.theiet.org/help/frequently-asked-questions/customer-portal-faqs

  • Thanks Lisa

I must say a fortnight seems like a very long time for switching over between login-systems. Brunel's Great Western Railway completed the change-over from broad gauge to standard gauge in less than a weekend of "downtime", in 1892.

Well, it doesn’t look like the site has the same numbers it used to have. We have lost some huge stalwarts over the years and the last thing we need is for people like you not to come back. So get the good lady to keep you busy but not so busy that you forget to come back!
