Personally I think Rotary Isolator would be far better than 20 amp Double-pole switch shown Fig 2 as this allows for isolation and LockOff/LockOut

The cost of the Rotary Isolator is still quite low see URL below.  (Other brands and other Wholesalers are available).

    I'm not sure. Part of the role of that device is to provide functional switching for the end users - many ordinary people will find a rotary isolator much harder to operate than a plate switch - especially the elderly or infirm - a twisting action is much more difficult for those with arthritic fingers for example - and many rotary isolators are very stiff. I've also yet to see a rotary isolator with a neon indicator (or LED equivalent) built-in - again a useful feature for domestic users to confirm that the immersion is actually getting power (rather than only discovering an hour or two later that the bathwater is still stone cold, because the forgotten other switch in the kitchen is still in the off position).
