I see that the IET/BSI have put out a news article on the publish date for AMD and the colour of the new book will be orange.

I wish to lay claim to the calling it the Orange Oracle.

    The OnSite Guide provides immediately relevant information on supply types, cabling, installation methods, and testing for common systems.  It also summarises key requirements for design, installation, and maintenance, ensuring you meet current standards

    While the On-Site Guide is not legally mandatory under statutory law, it is practically mandatory for the City & Guilds 2391 course and exams as of 2026

    Permitted Exam Material: The C&G 2391-52 exam is "open book". The On-Site Guide is one of only three books permitted in the exam room alongside the BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and Guidance Note 3

    Essential Reference: Many exam questions rely on specific tables and simplified data (such as maximum Zs values or conductor sizes) that are found in a more accessible format in the On-Site Guide compared to the full Regulations

    Big Green Book? That was the 15th edition in the 1980's and it did seem big at the time. The previous (14th) edition was A5 size and blue.
