Unsupported wiring

Good morning, all.

We have recently had some re-wiring done on the lighting in a CMC machine- and questions have been raised about its compliance with the wiring regs... at the moment we don't want to challenge the person who did the work, as its company politics.

They have used 3 core wiring from a junction box across a wall and then over to the CNC- they have clipped the wire to an armoured cable that was already in place- the gap from the wall to the CNC is about 3 foot, and there is no support for the wiring over that gap. That wire then terminates in a small transformer for the lighting in the CNC- the transformer isn't fixed to the CNC, it just rests on the top.

The environment its in is a woodworking fabrication shop- so even with extraction, there is dust present.

Would this set-up fall foul of the regs?

Thanks in advance

Andy
