Mistakes in books

I often come across mistakes in IET books or are pointed to them by one or two of the more fastidious candidates who pass through our training centre. Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes less so like the one below that I posted 4 months ago in relation to maximum demand on an EICR. I maintain this is a copy and paste from the EIC as section J includes the word "Certificate" 

Any way, the point is that I would like to communicate errors or possible errors to an appropriate person in IET so that they are addressed rather than highlight them here like an over-enthusiastic classroom nerd.

    This image (partially completed) matches the one on page 548 of BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.

    Section J was updated for Amendment 4:2026, so this is a comment on BS 7671. Although I agree it's inconsistent with Section C heading, I don't think it's actually 'incorrect'; by virtue of the form being signed in Section G, it is in effect a 'certificate' declaring the EICR has been carried out as reported?

    I am inclined to agree so far as the report may certify that the electrical installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service ... .

    However, I do not think that a report that the installation is not in a satisfactory condition can amount to a certificate. So I think that it is an error, but not a serious one.

    After all, if your car passes its MOT, you get a certificate. If it fails, you get a report which explains why a certificate has been refused.
