Enable searching for events by city or postcode within a radius

The IET Events page is difficult to navigate and find events that may be of interest.

Could users be given the ability to search for events by city and include a radius - e.g. ability to search for events within 10 miles of Sunderland?

Even better would be if visitors can set up to be alerted every time a new event is set up in their area and get a notification by email and/or text message.

Also the events listing is very dull...just a load of square boxes - no graphics to entice people to click

    I'm assuming you're referring to the IET Events Calendar on the main IET Website here: https://events.theiet.org/search/ and not within EngX? 

    We pull events into EngX from the IET Events Calendar and display them here: https://engx.theiet.org/c (with some interesting albeit default category images Blush ). We have a slightly different set of filters too so you can filter by the different Local Networks or by specific technical interest topics. 

    Also if you're logged into EngX, you'll see events local to you or on technical topics you're interested in/following on your personal homepage on the right hand side and you should also receive notifications of new events in your daily or weekly EngX digest email if you've subscribed to one. 

    I'll pass your comments onto the main web team for them to consider during their next update of the main calendar features though Thumbsup
