The University of Strathclyde is currently looking for graduates to commence in October 2013 and January 2014, who have achieved or are expecting to achieve; a first or second class Honours degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, or a Masters in Engineering.  This innovative Engineering Doctorate programme provides a combination of research and industrial training.  It is an opportunity for aspiring graduates to undertake world leading research within international global companies to develop research interests in the latest technologies for the UK's aerospace, energy, marine and automobile industries including aircarft components, cars, ships, medical devices and power generation equipment.

 

The outputs from these projects will contribute valuable research to support the UK?s Manufacturing Industry, and working with sponsored companies will enable Engineering Doctorate candidates to help resolve issues and push the boundaries of current manufacturing techniques.

 

The Engineering Doctorate is an opportunity to achieve a qualification that is more appropriate in pursuing a professional based industry career.  The Doctorate has the same prestige and ranking of a traditional PhD qualification and benefits you in contributing towards a Chartered Engineer

There are opportunities for funding for eligible applicants, below is the criteria as indicated by EPSRC:

 

UK applicants are eligible to apply for full scholarship (covering

fees and stipend)

EU applicants who have been resident in the UK for 3 years or more

are also eligible for the full scholarship

EU applicants who have not been resident in the UK for 3 years or

more are eligible for fees only support

International applicants are not eligible for EPSRC funding support

but can apply for partial University funding or on a self-funded basis
