What attracts them to volunteer for IET over 20 years? According to Mr Lim, the first Chairman for IET Brunei: “Looking at how the IET Brunei developed over the years is like watching my children growing up, it’s an accomplishment… It is also the passion that drives me to volunteer for over 20 years..."

Dr Siong: “I enjoy being with other volunteers sharing the same passion supporting and inspiring (most time being inspired by young engineers and students).”
Simon: "What drives me for past 20 years is my passion to help and inspire young students and engineers. Faraday Challenge is my renewed passion because of the excitement and impact it creates amongst students and a larger scale to the promotion of STEM..." (The Faraday Challenge event organised by Brunei Network was a great success: First piloted in one school in 2015. In 2018, 96 students from 16 schools participated, 2 prelim rounds and one final on 2nd Sept 2018).
As Minister of Development pointed out in his speech : “I am deeply humbled and grateful to the vision of passion of the IET Brunei pioneer members and all its voluntary members throughout the last 20 years… this is the spirit of volunteerism… strength of IET Brunei which can be modelled by other professional societies in Brunei.”
