Dr. Vibhav Vineet of Stanford University, California, won the PhD prize for his thesis paper “Recognition, Reorganisation, Reconstruction and Reinteraction for Scene Understanding", supervised by Prof. Philip Torr, University of Oxford.

The best MSc paper prize was awarded to Toby Frankau, Durham University, for his paper "A Light-Weight Monocular Vision Approach for Autonomous Vehicle Navigation", Supervised by Dr. Toby Breckon, Durham University.

The award ceremony took place at the 6th Imaging for Crime Detection & Prevention (ICDP-15) at Queen Mary University, London and was attended by Toby and Vibhav was able to join us from California via Skype. Professor Tony Davies, Technical Advisory Panel member for the Vision & imaging Network, presented both winners with their certificates.

This was the second year the Network has run the prize, and submissions were sent in from around the world. The papers were judged by a review panel drawn from members of the Network’s Executive Committee, led by Dr Farzin Deravi, Kent University. Yet again the standard of the submissions was extreamly high and it was a tough decision for the judges.
We're hoping to interview Vibhav and Toby so let us know below if you have any questions you'd like us to ask them about their research.
