IET Malaysia and the IET Control & Automation TPN are organising an event for youth scientists and engineers from local universities in Malaysia. It is a platform for sharing the results of creative thinking and innovation product creating from the idea, research, and development of science and engineering students in the area of automation and control.
The event is a competition, the aim of which is to develop any applications of automation and control knowledge that leads to problem solving and the use of the latest technology in daily life that benefits the community.
The competition will also help to raise awareness and increase interest to the engineering students about the importance of science and engineering in life especially in automation and control area.
This is a one day event, taking place on Saturday, 20th May from 8am - 5.30 p.m. The venue for this exciting competition is Kompleks Kejuruteraan Tuanku Abdul Halim Sultan Mua’azam Shah Universiti Teknologi MARA, 40450 Shah Alam Selangor.
This competition is open to all engineering students of Malaysia Universities and an invitation will be issued by the organising committee.
The Team size will be 3 per group and there will be one or two teams per University. A number of prizes will be offered (including some special awards) as below:
1st Prize: Trophy Medal Certificate
2nd Prize: Medal Certificate
3rd Prize: Medal Certificate
Special Awards:
• Innovation in Automation and Control : RM 200 Certificate
• Creativity: RM 200 Certificate
• Certificate for all participants
The students will be given 15 minutes to present and demonstrate their product/prototype/process and will be marked as follows:
Idea/Topic/Title 20%
Design/Concept 20%
Creativity 20%
Automation and control elements/devices/engineering 20%
Execution 20%
The timetable for the day will be
8 am – 8.30 am Registration
8.30 am – 9.30 am Product setting/Set up
9.30 am – 10 am ACYiC Lauching Ceremony
10.15 am – 10.45 am Invited guests visit participants booth/product
10.45 am – 1 pm Judging session (6 booths)
1 pm – 2.30 pm Lunch
2.30 pm – 4.15 pm Judging session (6 booths)
4.30 pm – 5.15 pm Closing ceremony - Awards ceremony
