Autumn 2022 will see the 75th Anniversary of a device that heralded the modern electronic age, the transistor.

The IOP and IET are jointly organising an event to celebrate both the invention itself, its impact and the future of the transistor as a device.

The day will take the format of a series of talks by leading historians and researchers taking us from the transistors beginnings to cutting edge research. The presentations will cover topics including the development of CMOS, organic electronics, 2D materials and spintronics.

For more information please see the events page at the Insitute of Physics.

This event is being supported by the IET History TPN.
