We thank Andrew Charnley for volunteering his expertise and experience in the area of communications and providing a seminar to identify presentations styles and techniques to the participants.
One of the points made was that presentations should be fluid and that the audience be engaged.
The young professionals, some students, all eager to participate, were made aware that this becomes their experience and enhances their growth in the engineering and technology fields.

The seminar was opened by the Chair of the YPS, Greg Manohar, who identified the benefit of the event and how it will contribute to the participants' success in the PATW competition on the 28th February 2015.
Ahmad Mohammed, the PATW Co-ordinator, mirrored this sentiment and extended it to include that they are young professionals and that this event will benefit them as they progress in their fields. He also noted the benefits of an IET member and encourged them to consider registering to becoming a part of the global body.
Anthony Chadee, the Chair of the Local Network, reiterated the points made by Greg and Ahmad and highlighted that the IET provides a global resource for engineering and technology and noted that one of the key points of access was through their website, whereby curious persons could engage with other members from various communities in multiple disciplines.
