The LN was specially invited to exhibit the IET's suite of products and services to the members of the ArcelorMittal family, during their learning week, on Friday 26th September.

The IET was prominently displayed and well positioned within the hall and were the only professional engineering and  technology body present, which added a key focal point on its importance in the industry.

The event was attended by over 75 persons who visited various booths, including the University of Trindiad and Tobago, the University of the West Indies, Automation Technology College, Metal Industries Company, Arthur Lok Jack Gaduate School of Business, to name a few.

The IET booth attracted engineers intrigued in pursuing the path to CEng and IEng and were aptly assisted by the LN's own CEng, David Drakes as well as LN's own IEng, Sean Ocho.  Sean recently attained his IEng accreditation and was able to express the process as well as the benefits gained in the qualification.  The EngTech qualification was readily understood by the technicians who visited the booth, wondering what the IET had to offer them.

The plant operators were pleasantly supprised that they  too were able to find a professional home for life within the IET family.  Their main concern was that they did not have any formal qualifications, however their length of experience on and knowledge of the plant placed them in a unique position to add value to young gradute engineers seeking to understand the current processes.

The overall response from the visitors demonstrated tha the IET is a value adding service, a networking family and one that is focused on the development of individuals as well as their health and well-being.

Many persons were intrigued to discover that the IET Connect was a feature provided to members to assist in times of need.

The General Manager of HSEQ & Continuous Improvement, Mr. Rafael Mendoza, was pleased to have us present at the exhibition and expressed his desire for making ArcelorMittal the best, through development of the human capital.
