9a79c51efe238d0379fa89fee0da4e38-huge-game_changing_satellite_applications.jpgWe’re just about to start formulating our programme of activities for the 2016-17 session and in order to ensure we have a good balance of committee members that is representative of both academia and industry; we are particularly keen to hear from academics who may be interesting in joining our team of volunteers.

We are also keen to hear from female engineers in any area of Space Systems & Applications whether in academia or industry.

We cover the areas of satellite systems, space vehicles and earth stations and their use for applications encompassing communications, navigation, earth observation, remote sensing and space exploration.

To give you an idea of the type of activities/content we organised, here is a list of what we’ve either done just recently or are currently looking to plan for this year:

  • Satellite Systems for Cities of the Future Seminar

  • Rural Broadband Debate

  • Mars – yesterday and tomorrow seminar

  • Inmarsat – MH370 and Space Based Aircraft Tracking Systems – breakfast briefing

  • UK Space Conference 2015 – filmed videos

  • European Relay Development Station, Visit and two themed lectures at Harwell

  • QinetiQ – filmed videos

  • Young Professionals Best Poster Competition

  • Secured Satellite Navigation Colloquium

So if you’re technically experienced in any of these areas and are in academia, we’d love to hear from you.  Please contact our Community Manager, Deborah-Claire McKenzie in the first instance.
