The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took place in Las Vegas this week with the usual offering of brilliant, gimmicky and downright crazy gadgets on display.

 

The conference wasn’t an entirely successful one this year – rare rainfall caused black outs and there were a few tech fails including the LG robot failing to respond to the CEO’s demands but as usual there were some entertaining IoT products to come out of the event.

 

Samsung announced that it was introducing SmartThings – a central hub for all of its various IOT products

Velco’s Wink Bar, a smart handle bar for bikes won the 2018 Showstoppers Prize

Intel demonstrated their drone light show above the Las Vegas skyline – something which they believe could take over from traditional fireworks
