UTAR On Campus Group President with David
David shared about TPNs and CPDs at the volunteer training session for both the Main committee and YPS, about 30 volunteers joined the training. There was a good discussion about TPNs and the hot topics of Malaysia: Oil and Gas, energy, renewable energy and Railway (high speed train). Two Malaysia volunteers who joined the Control and Automation TPN shared about how the Network collaborated with TPN. Their upcoming event will be a Student Competition that will take place in August. After the session, the Malaysia volunteers have a better understanding of TPNs, how it works and the possible ways of collaborations between LNs and TPNs.
Thank you UTAR On Campus group committee for the venue and event coordination!!!

David’s talk was followed by YPS Chairlady Shoun Ying’s presentation about their YPS and On Campus groups. Malaysia Network has 10 On Campus groups which organised about 80- 100 activities a year. They have been awarded as the “Best Global Engagement with the under 40s and Students” at the Global Volunteers Conference in London 2016. Check out an excellent video produced by IET UTAR Student introducing their On Campus group here

Meeting and Dinner with Main Committee
There was a meeting and dinner with the Malaysia Main Committee members during the evening, the members had good interactions with David and they found it really useful to have UK staff to visit them and share with them about the IET.
Thanks Malaysia Network volunteers for organising the programme!!!
