The Communities Resourcing Committee (CRC) oversees, co-ordinates and resources IET community activity by facilitating communication between all communities around the world.  The CRC also co-ordinates, guides and supports the five Community Committees and part of the drive through 2014 onwards is to engage IET members through increased engagement with TPN's. IET member / non-member engagement opportunities through great events/lectures etc are all reviewed as part of the funding cycle so please keep the great ideas coming in.

The group is headed up by Nigel Ward, he is one of the most active volunteers I have ever met and contributes a huge amount of time to the IET.  As well as being chair of the CRC, he is a member of the Knowledge Management Board (who CRC reports to), and he sits on the Audit Committee.

Alex Taylor is our Senior Staff Member and she has recently become the Head of Communities (congratulations). This includes being in charge of the Communities Team; including the Community Relationship Managers (CRMs) that help run the Local Networks (LNs) and Technical and Professional Networks (TPNs). Michelle Busson is the CRC Secretary (and our second staff member).  She does a fantastic job of making sure the committee runs smoothly and knows pretty much everything we ever need to know. If you ever need assistance Michelle is a great starting point.

There are the five chairs of the Communities Committees (Kath Jackson: CC-UK, Iain Murdoch: CC-EMEA, Drew Noble: CC-A, Prakash Nayak: CC-SA, Chris Chew: CC-AP), and the chair of the Young Professionals Communities Committee (Tim Ludikar).  We also have Sam Hubbard as a co-opted member on the committee.  Sam sits on the Member and Professional Development Board (MPDB), and it was felt that the CRC would benefit from a linkage with them, as a lot of our decisions impact the membership.

There are four team members from a TPN background (Graham Barker, Fernando Rodriguez y Baena, Kafil Ahmed, and myself).  We have become a sub-committee, with the idea being that each TPN will have one CRC member to liaise with. The four of us will be contacting TPN's in the New Year, if not already, to discuss how we develop our relationships with TPN's going forward.

If you want more information on any committee member or want to know more about what we do please visit the main CRC MyCommunity page and have a look around at what we do.

Kind Regards
