Happy holidays!

It's time for a festive break in many countries, which also means it's the time of year that we call for nominations for many of our boards and committees.

We hope you'll consider putting yourself forward for one of these exciting opportunities!

If you haven't already seen the announcement in E+T or on our LinkedIn page, read on for more information and check out further details about our governance and elections process via our website.

Otherwise, feel free to comment below if you have any queries (or want to share what you've gained from being in one of these roles before) and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. (Please note, IET HQ is closed for the holidays from Tuesday, 24 December @ 12.00pm GMT, and will re-open on Thursday, 2 January).

What's available?

Elected roles:

We've got 11 elected positions currently open, taking office from 1 October 2025.

Individuals have already been put forward for roles by the Board of Trustees, as per the requirements of our bye-laws - these are for vacancies in the two most senior groups, the Board of Trustees and Council. But IET members can also put themselves forward for these, and many other exciting volunteering roles too!

Nominations for elected positions close on Thursday, 9 January 2025 - you can apply by emailing governance@theiet.org or submit your application by post.

Candidates can be from any sector in the profession, and we especially welcome nominations from candidates that reflect our global and diverse membership, including those with disabilities as they are currently under-represented in our governance.
