1e6bbe6d140a42e56621c6039f481e75-huge-aircraft-landing-at-heathrow.jpgA trial led by NATS as part of the UK-Ireland FAB and in collaboration with FA and Heathrow Airport, to cut the amount of time aircraft spend circling in 'holding stacks' at Heathrow has started to reap rewards.



Since April 2014, NATS has recorded a reduction of up to a minute in holding times for those flights under the trial, saving airlines £1million in fueld and 5,000 tonnes of CO2, in addition to reducing noise levels for those communities under the stacks.
