Total of 48 students from 8 local secondary schools participated in DIY Faraday Challenge Round 1 that was held in Universiti Teknologi Brunei.


This annual event, organised by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Brunei Darussalam Local Network, gave an opportunity to the students to flourish their knowledge and creativity to solve problem based on real life engineering work. This challenge also provided a platform for the participants in each school to build a functioning prototype which was demonstrated at the end of the event.


Chung Hwa Middle School, Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun, and Sekolah Menengah Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) emerged as winners for this round. Each winner received BND200 cash prize and an opportunity to compete in DIY Faraday Challenge Final Round, which will be held on 2nd September 2018 in Aman Hills Shopping Complex.
