2 minute read time.
First of all, I'd like to say a big "thank you" to everyone who made this conference happen. This includes all of you who gave up your time to travel to Dublin, the EMEA-CC who worked tirelessly on the programme, my colleagues within the IET who took care of all logistics and advised us on the agenda, and of course our wonderful hosts from the Ireland Local Network.

For many of us the proceedings kicked off a day early to watch the EMEA regional Present Around The World final. Congratulations to everyone who made it to the regional final, and especially to Laura Barrabia Gil from Switzerland who won and Josef Grech from Malta who was the runner up.

Our CEO Nigel Fine opened day one of the CVC with an inspirational speech focusing on the IET's vision, mission and values. EMEA-CC chairman Iain Murdoch followed with the strategy, highlights and challenges in the region.

CRC member Lee Wood presented some examples of joint working between LNs and TPNs and urged you all to look into how you might collaborate and use the TPNs.

We then had some focus on Young Professionals and saw an outstanding presentation from Alima Muratova who is spearheading our student chapter in Kazakhstan. Alima's presentation was sandwiched between Jon Ratcliff presenting the YP-CC's strategy and Alex Taylor talking about the On Campus initiative. Amongst all of this we even found time for a group task on managing finance strategy and an inspirational talk on the importance of volunteering from our President Barry Brooks.

Day two kicked off with a presentation from Dr Al-Sammack from our Local Network in Bahrain, talking about why "content is king" with some examples from his own network. Sarah Halfpenny from the IET support team gave an overview of what we can do to help you and Iain Murdoch gave his second presentation, this time on professional development.

You can see all of the presentations from the weekend in the files area. I'd also urge everyone to share their pictures from the weekend in the pictures area, to comment on this blog and to keep in contact with anyone you met.

Please also take the time to present back everything you learned at the CVC to your fellow committee members when you have your next meeting. To help you with this, we have compiled the main points from the weekend into one easy to deliver overview presentation.
