Energy storage is an essential component in the successful realization of renewable energy systems. While there is a lot of visibility about renewable energy initiatives worldwide, developments in the corresponding energy storage systems do not appear to enjoy a similar level of publicity. This lecture will present some of the latest developments in energy storage, outlining the level of preparedness to capitalize, optimize and complement efforts within the overall renewable energy drive.
