Hywel the key volunteer for this group first came up with the vision to form a community around Functional Safety in mid-2015 and the group has recently been set up.  Purpose of the group is to promote sharing and understanding of Functional Safety to foster learning and development.

The have formed a committee and the group is based in New Plymouth, Taranaki, the activities will mainly take place there.  The group is attached to the IET Auckland Network so they will work closely with each other.


The technical group plan to organise a series of presentations by members or vendor with a variety of topics such as Alarm Management, SIL Determination and Machinery Functional Safety..etc
