The Lifeskills Workshop: Fundamentals of Project Management was organised by the Victoria Young Professional Committee on the 21st of February. This was the first Lifeskills Workshop of the year. The IET offers different workshops every year on various topics related to soft skills engineers need on the workplace and provides the material and the speaker.

The material is the same for all IET Communities over the world and as such is designed to be understandable by all kind of engineers with any level of experience. It is the ability of the speaker that makes the workshop interesting for the particular audience.

IET Victoria is proud to have Mr Michael Henderson CEng presenting the IET content. He is such a skilled speaker that was able to recognise the level of the audience from the start and adapt the level of the talk on the fly. He encouraged participants to share personal experiences and was able to lead a discussion on methods to improve such experiences while highlighting particular aspects to match the key points we had to cover during the workshop. For the second part of the workshop he covered the remaining aspects of the topic focusing on the ones the participants showed more interest in. His skills and experience allowed for a very insightful talk, which gave food for thought to every attendees, no matter the extent of the experience. As a result all attendees felt they gained a better understanding on the topic and were able to make the most out of the three hours of workshop. We cannot wait to attend the next workshop.
