Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for engineers and technologists, at all stages of their career; from those just starting out, to those at the most senior of levels, to join us through volunteering within our renowned technical, local and governance networks. These vacancies offer the opportunity to inspire, inform and influence discussion, the sharing of ideas and collaborative working, to advance the global engineering and technology community.

Additionally, you may already hold a position in one of our communities and wish to be involved further or know somebody you can recommend; our communities’ team are here to listen to your suggestions and actively encourage participation across all community opportunities.

Key Details

Our current vacancies offer an opportunity to work with innovative, knowledgeable, and inspiring professionals from a wide range of specialisms.  We recognise that joining one of our varied networks would be particularly suited to an individual seeking to enhance not only their own development; but the development of the communities they support. Whether it be enhancing skills in a specialist field within one of our technical networks or engaging with local areas/countries to enable growth within that region through our local networks. Or, furthermore, through our governance communities; finding workable solutions which further develop the IET’s established multidisciplinary and international position in ensuring collaboration amongst both our technical/local networks, with a strong consideration of societal challenges across all sectors.

“Being an IET volunteer has definitely helped enrich, shape and advance my career. Volunteering has been an excellent choice for me. It has opened new doors in my professional life.”

All our networks differ, offering differing opportunities and differing commitments; ranging from a few hours a month to a few hours a week, we invite you to find the role best suited to you and your circumstances.

Impact

Here at the IET, we value our volunteers and recognise their commitment and dedication to sharing our values and vision, in line with our 2030 Strategy. Ultimately, we can identify the difference all networks across the organisation are making, through invaluable insight, varied experience, and an in-depth understanding; pioneering, and engineering, the way to a better world.

“We all work together, trust each other, and depend on each other.”
