Another very successful event set up by Work-Wise and supported this year by over 90 exhibitors.

Staged at the MAGNA Science & Adventure Centre in Rotherham again provides an excellent venue for this popular event attended by over 3000.

Many schools in the SY region and beyond attend, making this a fantastic opportunity for schoolchildren to see first hand what Engineering and Manufacturing opportunities are out there.

IET SYLN once again had a double stand and were able to exhibit a number of interesting activities alongside the opportunity to distribute a range of literature about the benefits of membership of the Institution and engineering in general.

We also ran once again the  IET "Innovation Challenge" which had six schools for the SY region working alongside six companies to create an engineering or manufacturing related project.

St 'Ecberts' school, working with 'Rollem' Ltd, were the winners this year creating a simple but effective transition device to turn / orientate card in a printing process prior to slitting the card to size.

I was asked to be one of the judges of the competition once again and John Lawrence undertook a short presentation about the IET and gave the winners their award

Layla Graham once again carried out all the liaison work prior to the event on behalf of the IET SYLN making our overall contribution and sponsorship very much valued by the organiser, Work-Wise.
