Last week we met Victor, Chairperson and founder of Curtin IET On Campus. This week I'd like to introduce Ghazel Monir, the last of our Open Day MVPs. She is an alumnus of the 2016 Leadership Programme, joining the committee as a Leadership Programme mentor and UWA student representative. She is the mentor for the student group heading up the IET Quiz Night this September. Over the mid-semester break, she has singlehandedly brought the UWA IET On Campus club to fruition and is the incumbent chairperson.




Ghazel is studying a Masters of Civil Engineering at UWA. She joined the IET YP Committee to become a part of a community of like-minded people and learn from them. Let's get to know Ghazel.

Why did you join the Committee?

I joined the committee so that I could help run awesome events and develop my leadership, teamwork and organisational skills.
I remember the Gantt Chart you made for the Leadership Programme last year. It's a wonder you've more to learn.

Dogs or cats (or Ducks? Naked mole rats?)?

I like dogs, but cats for sure.
Finally! Someone said cats! Even if it's a technicality!


What is your guilty pleasure?

Anything related to food/eating. Also YouTube

What is the nerdiest thing you do? 

Don't know if it's nerdy but I’m a huge movie buff and know all the words to a couple of movies.

If you were a sandwich, what would you be?

Steak

What are your aspirations?

To be useful and help others

What would people be surprised to find out about you?

I was studying Biomedical Science before transferring to Engineering
