Last Week we met Tayah, a General Committee Member. Keeping with our theme of Open Day MVPs this week I'd like to introduce Nicholas Lane, our Murdoch Student Club Representative for MESS (Murdoch Engineering Student Society).

Nick is an Instrumentation and Control Engineering student at Murdoch University who joined the IET to be involved with other like minded students and engineering professionals. He's also an alumnus of the 2016 IET YP Leadership Programme. Let's get to know Nick.

Why did you join the Committee?

I was inspired by the amazing committee members and what they are doing.

Dogs or cats (or Ducks? Naked mole rats?)?

Dogs×100.
One of these days I'll get a cat person on here.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Eating chips and gravy on a rainy day.

What is the nerdiest thing you do?

I make spreadsheets for everything.
Ironically, so does most of the industry...

If you were a sandwich, what would you be?

Pulled pork sandwich on Turkish bread.

What are your aspirations?

I want to help others to be the best people that they can be.

What would people be surprised to find out about you?

I completed two trades before starting engineering at 20.

What are you a closet fan of?

Brian Shaw – strongest man in the world.

Any secret skills?

I can carry 16 bags of groceries at once.
Two trips are for the weak!

Who would win, Darth Vader or Gandalf the Grey?

Batman.
I don't think I ever need to ask this question again. You've won.

Is your toilet paper under or over? If under, defend your incorrect position.

Over, anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
2 for 2 so far!

Thank you Nick. For those of you playing along at home, please remember to tune in next week to meet our next Committee member.
