**Kindly note, So far they've had very few female engineers volunteer and want to present a more balanced panel to the children.**

For two weeks this March, engineers from all over the UK will answer the big questions about engineering in I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here, an online engagement event that gets engineers talking to school students online at imanengineer.org.uk.

This year's competition includes a new Communications Zone, with support from the IET Education Fund.  Five IET engineers are needed to participate in the Communications Zone; one of them will be crowned champion and win £500 to spend on more public engagement.Participating engineers will take part in live chats, answer questions and compete for students’ votes.

If you want to know how participating feels from a first-hand experience, have a look at this blog post form Rhys Phillips, an IET engineer who took part in I’m a Scientist − I’m an Engineer sister event – in 2011.

If you're interested in being part of the Communications Zone please apply to take part at imanengineer.org.uk/engineers by 26th January, or for more information see the website or contact Angela on the I’m an Engineer team at angela@gallomanor.com, or 01225 326 892.
