The students were welcomed and briefed by Mr Edwin Chong, the superintendent engineer at the power station.

The briefing touched on topics such as the system being used to generate electricity, the different types of maintenance involved in a power station, how electricity is transmitted from the power station to their homes and how it is being monitored.

Following the briefing, the students went on a tour of the power station; visiting the different buildings that houses the different machines and where the different processes happen.

This allowed for the students to solidify the knowledge they have previously gained from the briefing.

Rounding up this trip was a question and answer session – focusing more on the career prospect and the requirements needed.

Overall, it was a successful field trip with the students leaving with their knowledge horizon broadened and encouragement from Mr Edwin Chong to work hard and to seize every opportunity that comes their way.
