The IET Northumbria Network, Retired Members Section - 'Continuing with Engineering and Life after Retirement'

The new session will start next month and we have a full programme of events for our members.

These are usually held at Westerhope Methodist Church Hall and are accompanied by a buffet lunch. Starting time is noon, followed by the lecture from about 13:15.

Most events are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and members, partners and guests are all welcome. Why not come along and see what we do?

Recent talks have been on “Re-making Beamish”, a visit to Pumphrey’s coffee factory with “barista” demonstrations, as well as a trip to the Aln Valley Railway and to Whalton Manor gardens.

Forthcoming planned events are as follows:

21st September 2016: 'Notable Gardens' by Bill Devonshire

19th October 2016: 'The work of a museum conservator' by Rachael Metcalf

16th November 2016: Topic to be confirmed

7th December 2016: Christmas lunch at Kirkley Hall followed by 'A journey from Scotch Corner to the Scottish Border in early postcards' by George Nairn

18th January 2017: 'Saints or Sinners - WW1' by Anthea Lang

For further details on any of these events, or if you would like to join our group, or simply come along and see what we do. Please contact:
