It is both an honour and a privilege to welcome you as the Chair of the IET North Scotland Network (SN) to our 2013/2014 programme. I hope that this year’s programme can build on the success of last years.The IET covers an extremely wide range of disciplines and the above programme’s breadth reflects this. No matter your
background, we hope the session provides a range of events that will be of relevance and interest to you. The network already has a full programme of events in place with a wide range of lectures and events including:
Community Energy Schemes in Western Isles
Hydrogen Fuel Cells update
North Sea Enhanced Oil Recovery Through CCS
Powering the Commonwealth Games
Present Around The World (PATW) competition
Various Lifeskill events across the regions
PRA events
We are also in discussion with a number of other IET Networks regarding the potential for additional joint technical events so please keep an eye on the website to ensure you are up to date with the latest developments.
In addition to the above, we have more Professional Registration events lined up, in which our IET Professional Advisors will give helpful advice on applying for CEng, IEng, ICTTech and EngTech qualifications. These events have been successfully run for a number of years in the network and having had personal experience of one session when I was seeking my own professional recognition; I can vouch for their effectiveness and would encourage anyone looking for assistance with their application to attend.

We would also encourage you to join the IET SN Community which is now well established and enables greater interaction with all local and technical networks.
