APETT hosted its Annual Technical Conference on June 25 and 26 at the National Energy Skills Centre. The Theme of the Conference was Engineering for Sustainable Development.

 

IET TT LN was invited to the event in which we showcased the IET to many attendees. At this event we were able to attract many potential young engineers. One of the most favourable outcome was an invitation by the NESC President, Mr Kern Dass to discuss membership and accreditation of the NESC.

 

The Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Tewarie also visited the booth and was briefed of the IET. Other persons included the Council Members of APETT, Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Engineering, Prof W Mellowes and Eng Jerry Medford, Speakers at the conference and the NESC President. The Chairman and Secretary of the IMechE Americas, Dr Anthony and Eng J Thompson also visited the booth. Discussions focused on synergy building between both Institutions locally with respect to events, seminars etc.
