The Faraday Centre at IET London: Savoy Place will be partially closed on Thursday 6th October 2016 for the IET’s Festival of Engineering. This special event will bring together both the current and next generation of engineers and technologists for a day of events and

activities in the building. Over 400 engineers and 300 school children will be in attendance.  


-    The Faraday Centre Lounge, Faraday Kitchen and Knowledge Centre will be closed all day for the event. There will be no food served from the Faraday Kitchen, although a reduced menu of sandwiches and snacks will be available in the Nuffield and Tesla Rooms

-    The Ayrton member meeting room will be available as well as the 4 member meeting booths on a first come, first served basis. Pre-booking of these spaces will be suspended for the day

-    Complimentary teas / coffees will be available as normal for members from the Faraday Centre machine

-    The Nuffield and Tesla Rooms will be converted into small lounge for members for the day

-    The Faraday Centre Reception team will be on duty as usual as will a librarian to answer member queries as usual

-    Please be aware that noise levels in the Faraday Centre and the building as a whole are likely to be louder than usual due to the nature of the engineering festival and the volume of engineers / school children taking part

-    Professional Registration interviews will be conducted as normal
