The Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malaysia Local Network (IET) has successfully organised the Industry 4.0 forum with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (Kuala Lumpur)  on industrial innovation, attracting more than 200 delegates from industrial, research and academic. The forum is organized by the Faculty of Engineering and co-organised by the The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the The Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malaysia Local Network (IET), the The Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE), Malaysian Service Providers Confederation (MSPC) and the Malaysian Board of Technologists. The forum was presented with 57 students projects from Faculty of Engineering, which pioneered the integration of Industrial Innovation 4.0 into teaching and learning.

During the opening, the President DATUK DR TAN CHIK HEOK mentioned we take this Industry 4.0 development seriously as one of the commitments to the students. The initiative is to equip them with industry- relevant education, meaning to not only transform them to be highly employable graduates but have the capacity of being very adaptable to changes and innovative leaders who can seize the opportunities that arise from Industry 4.0. This is the hallmark of TAR UC’s education where we have a sterling track record of providing the solid foundation for our graduates to soar high in their careers as evidenced by the success of our more than 180,000 graduates who are leaders in various industries nationally and internationally. 


The invited speakers include Mr. Nik Naharudin Mohd Nasir (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation - MDEC), Dr. David Chieng (MIMOS),  Mr. Mohd Azhar (Festo Didactic Malaysia),  Mr. Yew Kian Seng (Teksoft (SEA) Sdn Bhd) and Mr. Cheng Boon Seng (Elliance Sdn Bhd). The Industry 4.0 Forum has provided leading-edge professional development for early-career, mid-level and senior professionals. It has brought together industrial experts and researchers who are interested in advancing engineering and technology for experience  sharing and discussion.
