Joseph Baddeley, a foundation degree engineering student from Birches Head has been awarded a certificate for student excellence and a cheque for £250.00 by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

 

After leaving school Joe studied at Stoke-on-Trent College and obtained a BTEC L3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. After a period working for JCB he returned to college to study for a Foundation Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology and has passed with merit.

 

Paul Bloor, course leader at Stoke-on-Trent College, said, “Joseph has put a lot of effort into his studies, is very well organised and respected by his peers. I had no hesitation in nominating him for the award.”

 

The prize was presented during an IET event at Staffordshire University by Angelika Kavvalaki, Chair of the IET North West Midlands Network committee. She added, “The IET is delighted to recognise and support local students and encourage them to progress in the engineering profession. Joe is a very worthy winner and we wish him luck for his future career.”
