This week I attended my first Antennas event – LAPC 16, in Loughborough.
The organisers did a great job with putting on the conference; the event was well attended and everyone agreed that it was another successful year. On a personal note, it was a great chance for me to listen to the speakers and meet many of the network’s committee members.

On the day…

There was a lot on offer; the photos show some of the sponsors that were there, as well as a couple of the posters that were presented. I’ll confess I was excited to see a 3D printer from Symeta in action!

The TPN’s very own chair, Rob Lewis, gave the last but successful talk of Day 1 on ‘Compact, Wideband Antennas for Industrial Applications’; in particular looking at recent collaborations with Liverpool University and hosts Loughborough.

At night…

Unfortunately I was unable to stay for the banquet and awards but Rob assures me that everyone had a great time! It was announced at the banquet that the IET events team would be organising the LAPC next year. It's very exciting for the IET to be hosting this event and I know the events team are eager to get going on organising next year’s conference. Keep an eye on the community for all the details as they are announced!

If you weren’t able to attend, the conference website will be updated over the next few weeks with more photos and information from the day.
