The conference was the biggest ever with over 1500 delegates and over 40 exhibitors. As always the conference was a mix of invited talks, poster sessions, exhibition and social events, all of which contributed to a very successful event!I got the chance to sit in on some of the talks and look at some of the posters – there is lots of interesting research happening in the areas of antennas and propagation at the moment.
The IET was in attendance with the exhibition stand – the stand was busy every day and I loved talking to so many of the delegates throughout the week. We had lots of fun give-aways – as always the sweets and mints were a hit (ran out on the first full day!) as were the travel mugs and pens – a must for every conference goer!
The exhibition kicked off on Monday evening with the welcome reception. The mood was set by a string quartet, who played some great British hits including Queen and The Beatles! There was another music interlude at the conference dinner, held at the National Maritime Museum, with a jazz trio providing the accompaniment to dinner.
With so much happening, there is no way one person could sum up the entirety of EuCAP - If you attended this year, please share your highlights in the comments below!
Next year’s event will be in Krakow, Poland – the call for papers will be open soon, so keep an eye out for the website launching soon!
