In this seminar, through manufacturing engineering and processes, he shared his knowledge in product design and development, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic control systems for manufacturing plant and facilities.
He then continued to further elaborate on Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Processes in product development progress that can be enhanced. In term of costs, there are significant differences and saving on product produced
by multi-material production capabilities of polyjet technique (Additive Manufacturing) when compared to the traditional hard tooling processes in manufacturing prototyping product.
Yew-Kee also provided various product samples that were ‘made’ by using multi-material poly jet technique for the participants viewing. From here, the participants had the opportunities to have the hands-on experience and study on parts requiring fine detail not easily captured using other techniques.
During the Question and Answer session, the students were also keen to know the key to becoming successful engineers.
After the seminar, a tour to its engineering laboratories located around the campus in various buildings, and a short briefing on engineering projects undertaken by the students.
