Do you remember someone from early in your career who supported and inspired you to become the professional you are today?

Could you be that person for someone working toward Professional Registration?

Following the success of Mentoring Awareness Week in 2015 and 2016, The IET Mentoring Service are happy to announce the 2017 Mentoring Awareness week.  This week of activity recognises the work done by those volunteering through the IET Volunteer Mentoring Service and also seeks new mentors to support those working toward professional registration.

If you are already professionally registered with the IET, and have just a few hours a month to share with another member and feel that you could pass on your experience and support a developing engineer outside of your immediate workplace then the IET Mentoring Service want to hear from you.  We are particularly interested in hearing from members working in new and emerging areas of technology where we may not already have coverage such as biomedical engineering, optical engineering and renewable energy as well as more traditional roles such as manufacturing, design and production or project management.  We are also actively recruiting members from local networks outside the UK who may be interested in mentoring on a predominantly e-mentoring basis.

There is further information, and an application form available on the IET website at:www.theiet.org/mentor, or contact the team at: mentoring@theiet.org to find out more information.
